There is a burden growing heavier upon my heart with each passing day. As I watch the wars, hatred, division, persecution, deception, and spiritual blindness spreading across the world, I cannot help but remember the words of Jesus:
“And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars… For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom… and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.”
— Matthew 24:6–8 KJV
I do not support those who make war upon the innocent, regardless of their flag, religion, nationality, or political cause. When innocent children die, when families are buried beneath rubble, when fellow believers in Christ suffer persecution and death, the Church should not respond with celebration or political slogans. We should weep.
The true Church of Jesus Christ is not called to follow earthly kingdoms unthinkingly. We are citizens of another Kingdom.
“For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.”
— Hebrews 13:14 KJV
Yet many believers today have become so entangled in politics, nationalism, and worldly systems that they no longer discern the difference between the Kingdom of God and the kingdoms of this world. The spirit of this age has lulled multitudes to sleep.
Jesus warned us repeatedly:
“Take heed that no man deceive you.”
— Matthew 24:4 KJV
Notice that Christ’s first warning concerning the last days was deception. Not war. Not famine. Not persecution. Deception.
The enemy has always sought to deceive the Church into compromise. Sometimes through fear. Sometimes through comfort. Sometimes through prosperity. Sometimes through political power. And sometimes through hatred disguised as righteousness.
There are believers today who can watch suffering and death unfold before their eyes and still justify it because it is done by “their side.” Brothers and sisters, this should not be so among the followers of Christ.
Jesus did not command us to love only those who agree with us politically or nationally.
“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you.”
— Matthew 5:44 KJV
The Church is entering a dangerous hour. I believe we are witnessing what Jesus called “the beginning of sorrows.” The shaking taking place across the earth is not only political or economic—it is spiritual. Darkness is increasing. Hatred is increasing. Deception is increasing. And the love of many is growing cold.
“And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.”
— Matthew 24:12 KJV
At the same time, there is a growing persecution against true believers around the world. In many nations, Christians are imprisoned, beaten, driven from their homes, mocked, censored, or killed for their faith. Yet much of the Western Church remains asleep, distracted by entertainment, comfort, wealth, and political division.
We have built churches but neglected prayer.
We have defended systems while neglecting souls.
We have learned to argue politics better than we know Scripture.
We have become comfortable in a world that is rapidly descending into chaos.
The early Church understood suffering. The apostles understood persecution. The martyrs understood tribulation. They did not place their hope in governments, armies, economies, or worldly leaders. Their hope was in Christ alone.
Today many Christians believe they will escape hardship entirely, yet believers across history have walked through tremendous persecution while remaining faithful unto death. What makes the modern Western believer think we are exempt from the trials faced by Christians throughout the centuries?
The call today is not panic.
The call is not hatred.
The call is not violence.
The call is to awaken.
“Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.”
— 1 Thessalonians 5:6 KJV
The hour demands spiritual discernment. We must return to prayer, holiness, repentance, and the teachings of Christ. We must prepare our hearts spiritually for difficult days ahead. Faith built upon comfort will not stand in tribulation. Faith rooted in Christ will endure.
I believe the Lord is sounding a trumpet to awaken His people before greater shaking comes upon the earth.
“Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.”
— Ephesians 5:14 KJV
This is not the hour for compromise.
This is not the hour for spiritual slumber.
This is not the hour to place trust in princes and earthly kingdoms.
This is the hour to draw near to Christ.
May the Church awaken before it is too late.
