UFOs, Roswell, and the Ancient Spiritual War

Ever since I was a young man, I have been fascinated by strange events and unexplained mysteries. One of the subjects that has followed me through the years is the Roswell incident and the continuing stories surrounding UFOs and what people now call “alien beings.”

For decades, the world has been told that somewhere “out there” intelligent beings from another planet may be visiting earth. Movies, television programs, government leaks, military testimonies, and endless speculation have all fueled the imagination of mankind.

But the older I have become, the more convinced I am that the answers are not found in outer space.

They are found in the spiritual realm.

I do not personally believe these manifestations are visitors from distant galaxies traveling millions of light years to examine humanity. I believe we are witnessing something much older, darker, and far more dangerous.

The Bible teaches that there was a spiritual conflict long before mankind fully understood it. Satan’s rebellion against God did not begin yesterday. Scripture reveals a war in Heaven, a fall of angels, and spiritual beings interacting with the physical world.

The Apostle Paul warned us plainly:

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
— Ephesians 6:12 KJV

This battle is not merely political.

It is not merely military.

It is spiritual.

Genesis chapter 6 gives one of the strangest and most mysterious passages in all of Scripture. It describes the “sons of God” interacting with the daughters of men and producing corruption upon the earth before the flood.

“There were giants in the earth in those days…”
— Genesis 6:4 KJV

Ancient Jewish writings such as the Book of Enoch attempted to give greater detail concerning that rebellion and the invasion of the spiritual into the physical realm. Though Enoch is not part of the canon of Scripture for most Christians, it does show how ancient people understood Genesis 6 and the corruption of mankind through fallen spiritual powers.

For thousands of years mankind has reported strange manifestations, entities, spirits, false gods, apparitions, and supernatural encounters. The names may change with each generation, but the underlying pattern remains remarkably similar.

Yesterday they were called gods.

Later they were called spirits and demons.

Today they are called extraterrestrials.

But what if mankind is simply giving new names to ancient spiritual realities?

I believe Satan has always desired one thing: dominion.

Jesus called him:

“…a murderer from the beginning…”
— John 8:44 KJV

His purpose has never changed. Satan seeks to destroy everything dear to God. He attacks truth, innocence, faith, family, morality, and ultimately the soul of man himself.

Fear is one of his greatest weapons.

And this world today is filled with fear.

Fear of war.

Fear of collapse.

Fear of disease.

Fear of governments.

Fear of the unknown.

And now fear of “alien disclosure.”

But regardless of what files governments release, regardless of what testimonies emerge, and regardless of what explanations are offered, Christians must remember this:

The Bible already warned us there would be deception in the last days.

“And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.”
— 2 Corinthians 11:14 KJV

That verse ought to make every believer stop and think.

Not everything supernatural is from God.

Not everything unexplained is harmless.

And not every manifestation should be embraced simply because science cannot explain it.

Now whether governments truly know more than they admit, I cannot say with certainty. History has shown us many things have been hidden from the public over the years. But even if every classified file in the world were opened tomorrow, it would not change the greater truth:

We are in a spiritual war.

The battle is not ultimately about flying objects in the sky.

It is about the souls of men.

The devil’s goal has always been deception, fear, and rebellion against God.

But Christians are not called to live in fear.

Paul wrote:

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
— 2 Timothy 1:7 KJV

The world may panic over every strange sign and every mysterious revelation, but the child of God must remember who sits on the throne.

Jesus Christ is still Lord.

God is still sovereign.

And no power of darkness can overcome the Kingdom of God.

As this old country preacher sees it, the greatest preparation for the days ahead is not building underground bunkers or obsessing over secret government files.

It is making sure your heart is right with God.

Because the greatest battle taking place in this world is not in the skies above us.

It is the battle for the soul of mankind.
