There is a danger in our time that runs deeper than politics, greater than elections, and deeper than party lines. Many are looking at the surface—debates, protests, violence, and division—and trying to fix it with policies and power. But what we are witnessing is not first a political crisis.
It is a spiritual one.
Our Lord spoke plainly on this matter:
“Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand.” — Matthew 12:25 KJV.
This is not merely a warning—it is a principle. It is as true for nations as it is for homes, churches, and hearts.
The Division Is Not Just Around Us—It Is Within Us
We speak often of a divided nation, but the deeper truth is this:
The division we see outwardly is a reflection of what has already taken root inwardly.
When hearts become hardened…
When truth is replaced with fear…
When people are no longer seen as souls, but as enemies…
Then division is no longer political—it is spiritual.
The Scripture tells us:
“From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?” — James 4:1 KJV
The conflict begins inside the heart of man.
Not in Washington.
Not in foreign nations.
Not in the systems of government.
But in the fallen nature of humanity, the Spirit of God has not transformed.
When Hatred Is Justified, the Kingdom Is Already Falling
We have reached a troubling place where many now justify anger, hostility, and even violence—so long as it is aimed at the “right enemy.”
But the moment a man believes:
- “My cause is righteous, so my hatred is justified.”
- “My enemy deserves harm.”
He has stepped out of the Spirit of Christ.
For our Lord said:
“Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you.” — Matthew 5:44 KJV
That is not a suggestion.
That is the foundation of the Kingdom of God.
When the Church begins to abandon this teaching—even in the name of justice or patriotism—it is no longer standing in the Kingdom. It is standing in the spirit of the world.
A Nation Cannot Stand When Its People Lose Their Moral Center.
History shows us that nations rarely fall from outside attack alone.
They fall when they become divided, weakened, and corrupted from within.
Jesus did not say a divided kingdom might fall.
He said it shall not stand.
We are now seeing:
- Distrust between neighbors
- Hatred between the political sides
- Fear replacing understanding
- Anger replacing compassion
And beneath it all is a deeper loss:
👉 The loss of a shared moral and spiritual foundation
The prophet spoke of such a time:
“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness.” — Isaiah 5:20 KJV
When truth itself becomes blurred, division is inevitable.
The Church Must Choose Which Kingdom It Belongs To
This is where the burden lies heavily on my heart.
The greatest concern is not the division in the world.
The greatest concern is the division within the Church itself.
Many now align more strongly with:
- Political identity
- National loyalty
- Cultural battles
…than with the teachings of Christ.
But the Kingdom of God is not built on political victory.
“For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.” — Romans 14:17 KJV.
We cannot fight spiritual darkness with the weapons of the flesh.
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.” — 2 Corinthians 10:4 KJV
This Is Not a Call to Ignore Evil—But to Confront It God’s Way
Some will say:
“We must stand against evil.”
And that is true.
But the question is not whether we stand.
The question is how we stand.
Do we stand in:
- Anger?
- Hatred?
- Violence?
Or do we stand in:
- Truth
- Love
- Righteousness
The wrath of man will never produce the righteousness of God.
“For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.” — James 1:20 KJV.
The Only Hope: A Change of Heart, Not Just a Change of Power
We cannot legislate righteousness.
We cannot enforce unity.
We cannot bomb hatred out of the human heart.
The only true solution is the one the prophets spoke of:
“I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts.” — Jeremiah 31:33 KJV
Until the heart is changed, the conflict will continue—no matter who is in power.
Final Reflection
We are living in a time where a nation is being tested—not just politically, but spiritually.
A kingdom divided cannot stand.
Not because of elections…
Not because of enemies abroad…
But because it has lost unity of heart and spirit within.
The question before us is not:
“Which side will win?”
The question is:
Will we return to the teachings of Christ before the division consumes us?
