The Search to Become A God--Transhumanism and H+

Those who know me understand I am not the conventional minister.  I believe that the course of man in his relationship with God has been circular.  As Solomon said, “there is nothing new under the sun.”  Man has since the beginning of human history tried to circumvent the curse God place on man for his disobedience.  The curse resulted in the death penalty upon all mankind.  Later, the LORD God limited man to 120 years and at the present 70 years and if by strength 80 years of age being the normal life span of mankind today.

The search for immortality has long been a desire of mankind. There are those who advocate that human immortality is achievable in the first few decades of the 21st century, while other advocates believe that life extension is a more achievable goal in the short term, with immortality awaiting further research breakthroughs into an indefinite future.  Is it possible that man will accomplish through his own efforts what the LORD God has put as a limitation on the life expectancy of man?

Do not forget the very first lie was “ye shall be as gods”.   After the curse was placed upon Adam  the LORD God realized that “ . . .Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever.   So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.” Genesis 3:22-24

Adam had within his grasp immortality but through disobedience chose death.  Paul in writing to the Romans in chapter 5 explained the consequence of Adam’s disobedience—death.
1.      First, death reigned from Adam to Moses
2.      The offense of one death would be on all mankind
3.      By one man's offense death reigned
4.      By the offense of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation;
5.      For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners.

Yet, immortality could be sneaking up faster than we can believe. The scientific advancements are happening at such a rate that hardly a month goes by without some new advancement in organ replacement.  The use of stem cells has pushed the biological immortality within the reach of mankind.  It is as though man has found the Tree of Life within his own body.

In America, and I have no knowledge of other countries, we, however, are obsessed with health.  We worry about growing old, which actually converts to “I don’t want to die.”   The health and wellness business in America is a trillion dollar industry.  The underlying fear is that one day we will die.

This brings us to the subject of transhumanism.  Many reading this blog may not be aware of transhumanism or H+ which is an enhanced human.  In a simple definition transhumanism is the perspective that humans use technology to remake human nature.  It is believed that through stem cell technology, genetic engineering and nanotechnology the possibility exists that this century we will enhance the healthy life span of mankind, increase intelligence, make ourselves happier—in short we will become as gods.  Transhumanism presents a radical view of our future world with the merging of humanity with technology providing us the opportunity to become something more than human—gods.

This is not the first time in human history that man desired to become a god.  In fact there were those who become known as “gods” and through their supernatural lives impacted the course of human history.

First, let me asked the question, what was so different about the wickedness of mankind during the life of Noah that it repented God that he made man and that he wished to destroy him?  We read in Genesis chapter 6 about the first transhumanism taking place.  The end result of this unholy union was the destruction of mankind.  We defiantly see an enhanced human + in this experiment of combining humans with angels.

And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.  And the LORD said,  My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.  And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.  And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.  And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

I prefer taking my information from a primary source, someone who was there at the time.  The patriarch Enoch was as well known to the ancients as he is obscure to modern Bible readers. Besides giving his age (365 years), the book of Genesis says of him only that he "walked with God," and afterward "he was not, because God had taken him" (Gen. 5:24)

Enoch lived before the Flood, during a time when the world was very different.  In the Book of Enoch he gives a detailed account of what was happening at this time in the history of mankind.  Human beings lived much longer, for one thing; Enoch's son Methuselah, for instance, attained the age of 969 years. Another difference was that angels and humans interacted freely -- so freely, in fact, that some of the angels fathered children with human females. This fact is recorded in Genesis (6:1-4), some view this episode as the source of the corruption that made the punishing flood necessary.  It was Satan’s first attempt at changing the creation of God and circumventing the curse of death and the stopping the promise of redemption.  If the bloodline of mankind could be mixed with that of the fallen angels then Jesus Christ would not be able to be the blood sacrifice for the redemption of mankind.

Think about this, Satan was almost able to stop the plan of salvation.  He had corrupted the entire world save the eight souls of Noah family.  God saw that Noah was perfect in his generation—pure bloodline and spared mankind from total destruction.

We have been warned that, “as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.” Luke 17:26  There may not be the sons of God and daughters of men uniting to have children, but there will be the mingling of the supernatural with mankind to bring about a race of people that will be as doomed as the Nephilims.

The transhumanism and H+ experiments are only Satan’s way of circumventing the plan of God in our day.  Ask him how it worked the first time?  It failed and it will fail again.  We will becoming full circle as Satan again deceives man into thinking that he can avoid the curse of sin--death.

Man may one day become the enhanced creature he desires to be but it will be at the cost of his soul.  Eternal life is only through Jesus Christ and then only when we are made a new creation in Him.  Jesus Christ has conquered sin, death and hell to give us life eternal.  The transformation comes when we confess our sins, accept the gift of eternal life, and live for Him.  To be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD.  You will find not just long life but life eternal in Jesus Christ.

Down The Road Called Destruction

A discussion I have had with a few of my close friends is that American is fast on the road of becoming a third world nation.  It is not from the “browning” of America or the immigration policy that is driving us down the road as some would have us to believe.  It is from the loss of the things this country once stood for—honor, character, integrity, and justice.

As Americans we complain and talk a lot about the problems in America but we cannot find the unity to solve the issues that are destroying our country.  The politicians are set on maintaining division rather than unity.  We are no longer, the UNITED States of America but the DIVIDED states of America.

Over the last decade we have not had the leadership needed to focus on the problems within our country.  We are more concerned about “nation building” or establishing democracy in some Arab country than securing the democracy within our own country. We are spending trillions of dollars to solve the world’s problems while letting our own house fall apart.

Our country has been divided by the lies from both conservative and liberal politicians and the media.  The biggest problem in this country is the half-truths, intentional lies and political spin that we hear daily from the spin doctors we call news reporters.  We have become a nation that lives on sound bites and from this we feel we are informed.  These sound bites have become the very essence of false hope and change.

We elect over 500 men and women to give this country direction and they cannot even do the simple task of developing and approving a budget.  Many of these 535 elected officials do not have the interest of America at heart.  They make and pass laws that enable them to profit while denying the same profit to their constituents.  For years they have misrepresented the people who voted them into office.  More often than not, if our political leaders were forced into the private workforce they would not be able to secure a job let alone hold one. Most have never been productive members of society.  They have lived off the taxpayer most of their lives and yet we keep putting these same individuals back in office at the determent of our freedom and security.  It is time to vote them out!

Daily we are told about the need to protect the “middle class” and then invariably the politicians line their pockets along with the wealthy at the expense of the middle class.  The middle class is so busy trying to make a living that we come across as uncaring and uniformed idiots who deserve too be pushed into the class of the poor. We don't have the time or the money to join a protest or lobby for a cause, we are to busy trying to keep our homes out of foreclosure, our cars from being repossessed, and putting food on the table.  Washington does not care what happens to us, we are only the next sound bite to secure their job.  It is time we stop listening to the lies coming from those who want to help us, and put men and women in office who really are honest and care about us.

Then we have those who want us to rally around America and show our patriotism.  America is not going to fix the problems with patriotism.  Patriotism is not going to fix the corrupt and unethical leaders who for the most part despise the very people they represent.  Patriotism is an illusion; it has no substance and is based on the lies and agenda of the arrogant and elitist manipulators.  Washington's definition of patriotism is "you make the sacrifice, we will make the war."  If Washington truly cared about our military people they would not have them fighting in countries that hate us.  They would bring them home and protect our borders from the invasion that is taking place here.

If America is to be saved it will not be by those who claim to lead us today.  It will not be by the conservatives or neo-conservatives, or the progressives or the liberals, or the family values professors, it will be by the informed individuals who weigh the balance of justice with truth and righteousness.  The message from God is this, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”  But as long as we remain arrogant and self-sufficient and deny the warnings from the LORD we will eventually reap the whirlwind and destruction.

It is time to focus on the spiritual condition of America.  We have allowed our country to forget the very things that made it a great nation-justice, mercy and caring for our neighbor.  We have sold our national soul for money, power and material gain.  We have become an evil nation in our dealing with not only Americans but with the rest of the world.  We have become a destroyer of countries taking the lives of thousands of innocent people all to protect the wealth of the elites, the manipulators of nations, and those bent on world domination.  We have become the ally of Satan himself.  It is time to heed the words of Paul the Apostle to the church at Galatia in chapter 5 he said,  13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh[; rather, serve one another humbly in love. 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” 15 If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.  16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.  19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.  22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

America it is time to give the LORD the opportunity help save this Nation.

THE POLITICAL VALLEY OF DECISION

JOEL 3:2,12-14
Life is about the choices we make.  These choices affect not only us but those around us, our family, our community, our churches and our country.  Most of the time we see the results immediately but there are times that years may go by before we see the end results of a choice we made.

When God created man he made him in his own image giving Adam the power to make decisions.  The decision Adam was confronted with was one that has been asked down through the course of human history—Choose ye this day whom you will serve. Deut. 30:19.  The impact of our choice to sever God or Satan is recorded in heaven.  “I call on heaven and earth to record this day against you.”  This decision has grave consequences.  “. . .I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing, therefore choose life, that both you and your seed may live.”

When we choose life, God honors us as we honor him.  We honor God by keeping his commandments.  Jesus said,”If you love me you will keep my commandments”-John 14:15.
Israel was chosen by God for a specific purpose --to serve him and give the message of Truth to the heathen nations so they too could serve God.  God warned them that they were not to intermarry with the heathen nations or to be deceived into worshiping idols.

As we know over time Israel became disobedient to God and allowed the heathen nations to convert them to do the very thing God warned them not to do.  It was easy to conform to the lesser of two evils than it was to stand firm on the commandments of God.

The end result was God brought punishment upon Israel.  What is sad about the history of Israel is God called many times for them to repent.  God said,  “. . .I have stretched out my hand and no man regarded.”   Punishment came at a tremendous price, judgment was poured out in a manner that left Israel broken, destroyed and seemingly without hope.

America is being given a wakeup call.  We are in the Valley of Decision.  The time has come for true Christians everywhere to declare his and her allegiance to Jesus Christ.  The American house is not in order we have “intermarried” with the heathen we have chosen the “idols” of the world and have forgotten our choice of life over death.

It is time to side with Joshua who said, “As for me and my house we will serve the Lord.”
America stands in the Valley of Decision.  The Day of the Lord is nearer today than ever before and we will be judged by the choices we make.  How many times must God bring judgment upon our Nation before we open our eyes and repent?

Our Nation right now must decide who the next President will be.  The choice we make will have a lasting impact not only on our lives but the lives of the entire world.  But how can we choose the right leader when the lies cover the real truth.  Hearing the voice of God is what is important.  The problem is that as American Christians we have turned a deaf ear to the voice of God for so long that we can no longer distinguish his voice from the noise of Satan.  We have enjoyed our comfort zone of ease and pleasure for so long that we have lost our dependence upon God to supply our needs.  We have become complacent, self-absorbed and blinded with false-teaching to the place we have grieved the very heart of GOD.

We started down this slippery slope when we felt we must be tolerant of everyone’s views. Our tolerance led to acceptance of the very thing God warned us against.  The tolerance deadened our hearing to the voice of the Spirit.  Our acceptance of allowing everyone to do what was right in their own eyes turned us from the absolute Truth to the gray areas of sin.  The end result is that we are no longer just tolerating and accepting evil we are condoning it.  We have been walking on corrupt ground for so long we have forgotten what it is to really serve God.  God says, “This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.”  We must never forget the not everyone who says, “Lord, Lord will enter into the Kingdom of God.”

This brings me to where we are today and the choices that are to be made for our country.  I am so tired of hearing those running for political office declaring their allegiance to Jesus Christ by claiming to be a Christian and then acting as an enemy in the choices they make.  Many of our political leaders feel it is important to say what conservative Christians want to hear even though in their heart and by their actions do not believe what THEY are telling Christians they truly believe.  I only want men and women to be honest they do not need to say what they think I need to hear—speak the truth.

I find that more often than not their “misspeak” is closer to the truth than their prepared speeches.  Truth is not the watch word of our political culture.  During this presidential campaign we have been fed a steady diet of lies and half-truths.  What is amazing is that Christians who should be able to discern the spirit of Truth have accepted the lies and half-truths as truth.  We have become a nation of “itching ears” hearing only what suits our own passions.

It is difficult to understand how evangelical Christians can choose to align themselves with those who believe that they can become a “god” in the next life and serve a different Jesus Christ.  It is just as difficult to understand when two Catholics are on the ticket one will make the decision to drop out in preference to the one which is the better supporter of Mother Church and vote accordingly-- that is the choice one must make to be true to the oath they have taken.  Could this be why one candidate is always asking the other Catholic candidate to drop out because he feels he has a stronger allegiance to the Mother Church?  Both men have taken oaths to support their church disregarding the oath they take to support the Constitution.

I believe it is time that the candidates stop feigning honesty, loyalty and patriotic devotion to the Constitution, and be honest with the American public they are going to be loyal to their church.  Is that wrong?  No.  It is however wrong to mislead people into thinking they will not be influenced by their church—for they will.  Three of the four candidates believe that there is no salvation outside of their church and all others are destined to be damned.  It is also their sworn duty to bring all other faiths to their way of believing.

So here we are in the Valley of Decision.

We have the choice of a man who has difficulty with vows he has made to God in regards to his marital fidelity.  If his present wife gets sick what will he do?  Leave her for yet a younger woman?  His record speaks words of caution.  I think its ironic so many Christians want an adulterer to run the country but would not allow them to be a leader in their church.

Then we are given the choice of one who calls himself a Christian but by many evangelicals he belongs to a cult that has the end goal of making him a “god”.

Of course, there's also another Catholic that by his life has been more loyal to his oath to support the Mother Church than the Constitution of the United States. His dedication to his churches values cannot be questioned but where will his true allegiance lie with his oath to protect first his church or his country?

The fourth candidate has more evangelical Christian values than the other three.  However, there are those who fail to understand the value he has placed on personal freedom and choices.  He has placed the freedom of personal choice upon the individual and not with the government or an oath taken to a church.  But his ability to replace the present president is daily called into question.   You must convince yourself that he can win against the present president before you risk your vote and you are not sure you are willing to take the chance of losing the election.

What I know for certain is this, the Lord “. . . changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: he revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.”  Paul the Apostle says, “For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.”

Whoever is the next President, will be there because in the greater picture of God’s will he is still in control.  However, you must make the decision as to who you understand will carry out the plan of God.  He has placed before us life and death, blessing and cursing, the choice is ours.  Let’s make the right choice.
