Have you ever asked yourself the questions: Why are we in Ukraine? Why do we support killing Christians in Syria, Gaza, Lybia, or any other country we are at war with? Why do we, as a nation, support the killing of innocent women and children? How do I, as an American, benefit from the wars we support? Why is the border of Israel and Ukraine more critical than our Southern border?
I ask these thought-provoking and insightful questions about our country's involvement in global conflicts. It's normal to wonder about the reasons behind our actions and how they align with our national values. In addition, it's crucial to consider the impact of our actions on innocent civilians and whether our participation is genuinely beneficial. Although answering these complex questions can be difficult, being an informed and engaged citizen is indispensable.
Over the last decade, there has been a growing concern about elected leaders in our country disregarding the rule of law. Despite their oath to defend the Constitution against foreign and domestic enemies, many of these officials still need to fulfill their duty and have regularly violated their oath of office. This is a concerning issue that needs to be addressed to ensure that our country remains a fair and just society for all citizens.
As citizens of a country founded upon the principles of justice and the rule of law, seeing our government repeatedly violate these principles is deeply concerning. For far too long, our national security government has operated in secrecy, conducting secret wars, creating secret laws, and using secret courts and evidence. The government has even gone so far as to establish secret prisons and engage in unlawful surveillance of attorney-client communications, all while operating outside the boundaries of the law. The lack of transparency and accountability has eroded our trust in the government, leading to media exposés that often go unnoticed.
Moreover, the government has too often disregarded probable cause and dismantled habeas corpus and other crucial aspects of due process. The U.S. courts have not always helped, as they have been quick to dismiss lawsuits on the basis of 'lack of standing' or declare disputes' political,' leaving citizens with no recourse. As a nation, we must assert our rights and demand accountability and transparency from our government. It is our duty to hold our leaders accountable when they breach the trust we have placed in them. Only then can we truly restore the rule of law and ensure that justice is served for all.
